What is VIDS?
KIDSS works for the people of six clusters (Vicariates) within KIDSS geographical area under the leadership of the Executive Director. The cluster structure is called Vicariate Integral Development Society (VIDS). VIDS is operative in our working area. These VIDSes coordinate the Basic Integral Development Society (BIDS) at the village level that is what we call BIDS (Basic Integral Development Society). Vicariate structures have executive committees and separate project directors to carry out the programme. All villages have become vibrant social unit groups due to the existing BIDSes programme. These social groups work for the poor and vulnerable people like children, women, widows, aged people, sick, disabled, homeless etc.

To create a sustainable and just social system that upholds human dignity based on the values of love, peace, justice, equality, and brotherhood, as shown by the Gospel.
Our Mission
To empower and enable the poor and marginalized people to regain their human dignity and values that have been taken away from them, by encouraging them to become aware, organize themselves into a movement, gain strength, and contribute to changing their own lives and the society in which they live.
Objectives
To help the poor and marginalized people become aware of their situation, without discrimination based on caste, religion, ethnicity, or language.
Fish vendors, shoemakers, weavers, and other laborers — analyzing problems and formulating special programs.
Planning and working for the complete development of children, women, persons with disabilities, tribal people, and Scheduled Castes.
Helping grassroots people to gain social awareness and act with social concern and responsibility.
Making people realize the importance of education and conducting special classes for individual students.
Planning and implementing training for higher education and entrance examinations, as well as career guidance training.
Creating a public fund for higher education.
Giving importance to environmental protection and health awareness.
Guiding the poor towards self-reliance and self-employment. Promoting small-scale industries.
Providing information about government welfare schemes to grassroots communities and liaising with government officials to access them. Also helping people to join and benefit from all types of government welfare boards.
Guiding people to obtain basic amenities facilities such as housing, sanitation, and electricity etc.
Activities
Formulating yearly action plans at the Vicariate (cluster) level and implementing them for the upliftment of the lives of the people.
Organizing training programs for education, employment, etc., at the Vicariate (cluster) level.
Undertaking efforts for employment opportunities.
Nurturing the younger generation through schools and colleges to create attitudes that uphold the dignity of women and children.
Organizing mentors training for the students.
Providing vocational training to help improve livelihoods.
Providing timely guidance to poor students regarding opportunities for higher education.
To ensure that orphaned children continue in life.
Observation of National importance days like Environment Day, World Cancer Day, etc.
Welfare assistance to the poor and needy (Education, health, livelihood, housing, Sanitation etc.)
